The renovation of a flat in a context of 1940s detached houses has determined a re-organization of the spaces in terms of modernization of the functions. In particular, three rooms (entrance hall, living room, dining room) were combined into a single open space, which brings together the three functions and opens onto the kitchen corner. The construction of a large false ceiling (necessary to conceal the earthquake-proofing work) made it possible to rebalance the changed volumes in the room. The grazing light frame provides discreet illumination of the walls, visually lightens the large false ceiling, and provides basic ambient lighting from top to bottom. Pairs of spotlights complement and provide accent lighting where needed. Indirect lighting above the kitchen wall units, on the other hand, reverses the perception of the small side room, enlarging its volumes.
