Housed in a building opened in 2009, and planned by French architect Jean Nouvel, the Baku Museum of Modern Art houses a collection of the finest Azerbaijani avant-garde works from the mid-20th century to the present. The collection, which includes paintings and sculptures, reflects the aspiration, commitment and freedom of the human soul. The internal structure is entirely characterised by reticular beams on which electrified tracks are installed. Novalux's intervention, carried out in 2018 after several years of inactivity in the Museum, included a complete overhaul of the system and the replacement of the old spotlights installed with new LED spotlights. These consist of LED spotlights equipped with a beam shaper to focus the light beam perfectly on the sculptures and linear luminaires with adjustable optics for uniform illumination of the walls with paintings. The type of luminaires was determined on the basis of typological calculations, and the results were then applied to the different areas of the Museum.
